Signs your boiler may need to be replaced or work is required to your system:

We often recieve calls from concerned clients saying they have been told they need a new boiler or are hearing strange noises from their Central Heating System. Rest assured, we are not here to sell you unnessesary work but we can advise you on the best course of action. Sometimes, this unfortunitly a new boiler but in most cases, there is work we can do to rectify issues without the worst case scenario.

  • Rising Energy Bills:Energy bills going through the roof? This could be a sign of an inefficient boiler. As a boiler ages, it can lose its efficiency. It may also be down to sludge in your system blocking heat from your radiators. Either way, it is best to have your system checked over.
  • Boiler Breakdowns:If you are encountering frequent boiler breakdowns, this could be a sign of potentially a much bigger problem.
  • Boiler Pressure:When a boiler is losing its pressure, this could be because of a leak in the system or the boiler. We can carry out tests to establish which and give you the options to fix the issue.
  • Discontinued Parts:As boiler models get replaced by manufacturers, it can be difficult and costly to source new parts.
  • Boiler Noises:If your boiler is making strange noises, it may not necessarily mean you need a new boiler, you may need a flush or it may mean air in your system. If bleeding your radiators doesn’t solve the issue, it is best to have the boiler and system checked over by a Gas Safe Engineer.
  • Radiator not heating up: This may simply be down to a radiator valve being stuck or it could be a sign of a blockage in your system. We can check if you just need a new radiator valve or a System Power Flush.

Mrs Shires in March, Cambridshire recently called to say she had been told she needed a new boiler and was looking for quotes. We visited and assessed the situation to find the boilers Heat Plate Exchanger was blocked and her heating sytem needed a power flush. We carried out the required work and fitted a new Fernox System Filter  so Mrs Shires current boiler can continue to keep her warm in the years to come!

Mr Davies in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire called to enquire about a Power Flush to his heating sytstem. On further investigation, we found he only required two new thermostatic

untitled design (25) radiator valves fitted.

Mr Bailey in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire was finding his hot water was fluctuating in temperature, this again on investigation was a blocked plate heat exchanger on his combi boiler, we flushed the system and Mr Bailey can now shower again without fear of freezing!
